Come and See, Come and Listen

I read this morning in Psalm 66:5, 16. It read like this from NLT,

“Come and see what our God has done, what awesome miracles he performs for people…Come and listen, all you who fear God and I will tell you what he did for me.”

The psalmist sends out an invitation to those who are hungry and seeking God. It’s an invitation to see the God Almighty, to witness Him and to see that He is real and active.

Is this the kind of invitation we are sending to our students that come to these ministries we have the honor of leading? Is our invitation an invitation to pump up our heads with numbers and popularity? Last week I met a new youth pastor. Three of us got together to put on a free event for our students. This led to a further discussion to put our resources together to reach our surrounding communities. So, rather than compete for the biggest youth group, we are working together, inviting students to “come and listen”, and to “come and see”.

How are you getting the invitation out?
