Prayed For

I attended the Northwestern College Youthworkers Resource Brunch. This was my 3 year going, I think. They did something new this year by bringing in high school students to pray for us youth pastors. How weird is that? I’m so used to praying for students. It was almost hard to let them pray for me, but it was so good. I experienced something that I never experienced before.

One kid prayed in tongues over me. I wasn’t sure if it was being translated by the same person or a friend, but that has never happened. To hear an unknown language speaking was…different. I have to admit that since it has never happened to me I don’t remember what the interpreter was saying. I can’t remember the prayer at all…except that someone prayed for me in tongues.

After the prayer time had ended, a teenage guy walked up to me and said, “I feel God telling me to pray for you right now.” So, he prayed for me and  prayed about me doing HUGE things, big things in His name. This young man was  saying it was a message from God! I have never had that happen to me, either.

Why do I share this with you? Because I don’t know what to make of it. The fact that a student prayed for me in tongues was a stretch for me. That another prayed knowing God was going to do HUGE things through me. What could all this mean? My heart and passion is to see a revival happen on the school campuses that are represented in my youth ministry. Maybe, God was using that time of prayer to really speak to me and get my attention because…things are going to happen!
