Fundraising Continues

It’s that time of year for raising funds for summer mission trips. To help in this area, I set up a parents brainstorming meeting. We met for an hour and a half coming up with several good ideas. Most of which I have never done before. The best part? I don’t have to do it all by myself. In the past, the whole fundraising thing has been all done by me. If you’ve done that, you know how stressful that can be. Now, with the help of many parents, I think it could actually happen…and happen well.

Here are some of our ideas that we are going to try:

  • Red Envelopes – this idea came from…I think Group Magazine. Number the envelopes from 1 – 100 (or whatever amount you want). Post the envelopes on a board. People take an envelope and put that dollar amount in the envelope and turn it in.
  • Coffee Cups – We are going to see if we can get paper coffee cups from local coffee shops and put the student’s picture on it and hand the cup to friends, family, neighbors, etc. People will fill the cup up with pocket change and return it.
  • Candy Bars – plain simple sales!
  • Support Letters

I’ll give a report to see how things did as we do them. Love to hear what you’ve done that worked and didn’t work.
