One thing I have learned in my years of doing youth ministry is…always be ready to teach. Our Sr. High program focuses on small groups (The Core). We have 3 guy small groups and 3 girl small groups. I do not lead a small group, yet. The reason? I’ve been developing a student leadership program that I will leading once it’s up and running.
Anyway, I received a call from one of my guy adult leaders saying he was sick. He was. He sounded horrible on the phone. The other was gone on a trip for business (and pleasure). Leaving 3 small groups to be led by 1 guy. So, I stepped in to lead. Was I ready? Not really, but we talked about what most teenage guys want to talk about…girls.
My #1 ministry trip is…always be ready to teach!
